Print, a kind of picture printed by a plate carved or etched, one of forms of painting. Print art went through two phases: copy and creation. In the history of print creation, painter, carver and printer made labor division and carver just cave the plate according to the sketch, therefore it is called copied print; while created print is finished by print artist alone so as to fully show art creativity of the artist.
China’s earliest existing copied print was created 1000 years ago-the well-known picture on the head of “The Vajracchedika Prajnaparamita Sutra” (Xiantong Edition) while the created print appeared in 1930s, advocated by Lu Xun.
